Rise of Isengard: Developer Diary: Monster Play Changes – Creep

Class Updates

Creeps skills that were previously gated by Ranks 11-15 have had their requirements lowered, allowing Creeps to have access to their complete skill set by Rank 10.

Reaver

Thrash

Current: FAST 3-Hit attack on a disarmed target. 5m Cooldown.

Reason for Change: Potency and functionality of this skill is almost identical to “Ravage”, but suffers from HUGE cooldown and usage requirement.

  • 3 hit attack – each hit applies a stacking bleed, Savage Wounds, on the target.
    • Each stack of savage wounds increases in potency by 25%
  • Reduce cooldown to 15s
  • 0 Power cost

Blade Toss

Current: High damage ranged attack.

Reason for Change: Reavers lack a way to catch kiting classes.

  • Applies a 40% Slow for 10s.

Improved: Sudden Strikes

Reason for Change: This is the Reaver’s basic attack but only function as filler in the rotation. Adding active cooldown reductions passively rewards players for normal skill use.

  • On hit: Reduces the active cooldown of Wrath by 3s

Wrath

Current: Enables with Defeat Event – Lose 50% of your health; 75% of that is turned into power. (30s cooldown)

Reason for Change: This is a similar skill to “Time Out” but with a large punitive cost that makes it undesirable. Additionally, Reavers tend to burn out in combat with little ability to sustain themselves.

  • On Defeat Event: Reaver heals when he uses attack skills for 30s
    • On Skill Hit: Heal 150-200 Health
  • 2min Cooldown

Improved Gut Punch

Current: Low damage induction interrupt.

Reason for Change: Many of the Reaver’s utility skills are gated behind Defeat Events, making them functionally useless in solo play.

  • On Critical – Generates a Defeat Event
  • 10% Damage Increase

Time Out

Current: On Defeat Event- 300 ICPR and 100-150 Power

Reason for Change: Power return has not scaled with increasing power costs.

  • Increase Power Restore to 500-550

Trait: Resistance Boost

Current: Song, Cry, Physical, & Tactical Resist rating increase

Reason for Change: We can both simplify & enhance this trait by converting the unified stat.

  • Converted resists to Unified Resistance Rating

Trait: Quick Strikes

Current: Reduces Attack Duration

Reason for Change: DPS Classes need additional access to Finesse

  • Add Finesse Rating
