Bullroarer Took Screenshot Contest 2012

Come celebrate Bullroarer Took day with us! On March 15th we’ll begin accepting screen shots from all over Middle-earth honouring the mighty Bullroarer Took!
 
For those who don’t know their Shire History, Bandobras "Bullroarer" Took led the Hobbits at the Battle of Greenfields when Orcs from Mount Gram, led by their Chieftain Golfimbul, invaded the Northfarthing. During the battle, Bandobras defeated Golfimbul with a mighty blow that knocked off his head. Golfimbul's head flew through the air for 100 yards and dropped down a rabbit hole. Thus, according to Shire legend, Bullroarer Took invented the game of Golf!
 
You can gain your own measure of fame by participating in our Bullroarer Took Screenshot Contest. We’ll select a winner from each category below and post them on LOTRO.com. We’ll include your character name as well as the names of the participants in the screenshot, your server, and your Kinship, if appropriate.  Winners will receive 500 Turbine Points for winning, so start snapping screenshots!
 
For this contest, we have four varied categories for you to enter. Each user can enter any of the four categories (listed below) twice. If a screenshot you submit wins any category, you’ll win 500 Turbine Points and a unique title for our forums!
 
  • Wearin’ the Green: In our staple Bullroarer Took category, we’re looking for screenshots that show your character in their best green outfit!
  • Orc Foe: Show us your best picture of your character destroying Orcs, just like Bullroarer Took! 
  • Life in the Shire: Take a picture showcasing some of the best of daily life in the beautiful lands of the Shire.
  • The Brewmasters (Group Only): Take a screenshot of your character and your friends enjoying a night at the inn!
 
The Bullroarer Took Screenshot Contest runs from Thursday, March 15th, 2012 until Friday, March 23rd. Entries must be received by Turbine no later than 11:59 PM Eastern time (-5 GMT) on Friday, March 23rd, and you may only submit two screenshots per category. Turbine will announce the winners of each category on the LOTRO Forums and website on Tuesday, March 27th. Winning submissions will receive 500 Turbine Points.
 
Screenshots must be original and unedited (cropping is allowed) and should have a resolution of at least 1024x768. Here are some tips for taking screenshots:
 
  • You can zoom in to a first-person view with the mouse-wheel
  • The number pad or right mouse button can be used to adjust the camera angle
  • F11 or CTRL-P takes your screenshot
  • Screenshots are stored in My Documents/The Lord of the Rings Online
  • The F12 button will remove the UI
 
To enter the LOTRO Bullroarer Took Screenshot Contest, send your entry to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it with the subject line "Bullroarer Took Screenshot Contest”. All entries must include the category for which it is being entered, the player's real name, e-mail address, primary character name, primary server name, community name, and names of characters in the screenshot. We will credit your screenshot with your primary character name. You may only submit two screenshots per category, so make them count!
